1. What materials can the xTool F2 Ultra engrave or cut?
The F2 Ultra can handle a wide range of materials:
60W MOPA Fiber Laser: Stainless steel, titanium (including color marking), aluminum, brass, gold, silver, plastic, and more.
40W Diode Laser: Wood, acrylic, leather, cardboard, rubber, fabric, and some plastics (non-metal).
2. Can it engrave in colour on metal?
Yes! The 60W MOPA laser supports colour engraving on metals like stainless steel and titanium, creating over 100 vibrant shades by adjusting pulse frequency and duration.
3. What’s the maximum cutting thickness?
With the diode laser: Wood: Up to 23 mm (with multiple passes)
Acrylic: Up to 20 mm (with multiple passes)
Note: The MOPA fiber laser is primarily for engraving/marking, not cutting.
4. What is the working area? Can it be expanded?
Default: 220 × 220 mm. Expandable to 220 × 500 mm with the conveyor system (sold separately if not deluxe bundle), ideal for batch jobs or larger pieces.
5. Is it compatible with LightBurn?
Yes, the F2 Ultra supports LightBurn software, enabling more advanced design control and increased productivity. Another option is to use xTool Creative Software.

MOPA Fiber Laser: High precision, metal engraving, color marking, deep metal etching
Diode Laser: Non-metal engraving and cutting (wood, acrylic, etc.)
