1. Why only 5W? Is it enough?

The 5W power level is ideal for a desktop machine, giving you excellent precision while keeping the unit compact and affordable.

UV lasers work with a very short wavelength and high energy, which means they engrave by breaking material bonds instead of burning the surface. This low-heat “cold engraving” process creates cleaner, sharper results and protects delicate materials.

Because of this, 5W is considered the perfect power level for desktop UV engravers. Even for tougher jobs like engraving inside glass, the F2 Ultra usually uses only about 60% of its power, leaving extra capacity for smooth, reliable performance.

2. What materials can the xTool F2 Ultra engrave?
