Product Description

This is another great IIC/I2C/TWI/SPI Serial Interface. As the pin resources for Arduino controller is limited, your project may be not able to use normal LCD shield after connected with a certain quantity of sensors or SD card. However, with this I2C interface module, you will be able to realize data display via only 2 wires. If you already has I2C devices in your project, this LCD module actually cost no more resources at all. It is fantastic for Arduino based project.

What makes this adapter board so effective is that it utilizes a PCF8574-based controller IC, which is capable of taking inputs from SDA and SCL pins and translating it to parallel output over 8 quasi-bidirectional I/O Ports and 3 Address Inputs, and with just two data lines, in addition to the Vcc and Vss lines, you can operate entire displays and arrays of pixels while still being able to cater to all of the other Modules and components in the project from a single MCU board.
